[Problem fixes] Nothing. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED Firmware Build ID/NVM Firmware Version Method 1: (FW Build ID) 1. Boot Windows. 2. Open command prompt with administrator privileges. 3. Locate the firmware update package folder then go to 'detect' subfolder. 4. Run detect1909ur.exe. Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\ThunderboltFW\detect\detect1909ur.exe detect1909ur.exe shows firmware build ID, NVM version and Thunderbolt Driver version. Method 2: (NVM Version Number) 1. Click the Start button at the bottom left of the screen. 2. Find and open "Thunderbolt Control Center" application. 3. Open Navigation and select the "About" tab. 5. Find NVM firmware version number. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES - You need to install Thunderbolt Driver before firmware update. If your system use the preload environment, Thunderbolt Software is installed. - Power Management driver is required. Please install it first before firmware is updated. If your system use the preload environment, Power Management driver is installed. - Unplug Thunderbolt devices, USB devices, and display monitors from USB Type-C connectors while updating Thunderbolt firmware. - Make sure AC adapter is plug-in and battery charging remaining is enough. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS Notes: - If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section. Manual Install 1. Make sure to be logged on with an administrator account and that power source is AC. 2. Unplug Thunderbolt devices, USB devices, and display monitors from USB Type-C connectors. This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer. Downloading file 3. Select the underlined file name. Once this is done, some pop-up windows will appear. 4. Follow the instructions on the screen. 5. In the window to choose Run or Save, select Save. 6. Choose the folder you would like to download the file to, and select Save. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully. Extracting files 7. Locate the folder where the file was downloaded. 8. Locate the file that was downloaded and double-click/double-tap it. 9. Follow the instructions on the screen. 10. In the Select Destination Location window, select Next. If you would like to select a different folder, select Browse. 11. In the Ready to Install window, select Install. All the necessary files will be extracted to the folder selected in the step 9. Installing files 12. Make sure the checkbox next to "Install ..... now" is checked and click Finish. 13. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation 14. Restart the computer. Finally delete the file saved in the step 6. Unattended Update This is for system administrators' use only. 1. Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and extract the file. 2. In the step 12 of the Installing files section, uncheck the checkbox next to "Install ..... now", and then click Finish to cancel installation. 3. At the command line, execute FwUpdateTool1909ur.exe with "1 -s" option. Example: [Path where the files were extracted]\FwUpdateTool1909ur.exe 1 -s 4.
